Product page SEO audit: which fixes come first?

A large catalog does not need every description rewritten at once. Start with a representative sample and the pages that matter to your business, then separate copy problems from technical work.

1. Select a meaningful sample

Include best sellers, new products, high-margin items and a few pages from each important template. Record their URLs and availability. If you have your own search performance data, add pages with relevant impressions but weak engagement; do not interpret a low audit score as lost revenue.

2. Check access and page identity

Open the page without signing in. Check that it returns a working response, has the intended canonical and is not unintentionally blocked or noindexed. Give it a descriptive title and one clear main heading. A title should describe the actual item rather than repeat a keyword list.

3. Answer purchase questions

Check whether shoppers can find dimensions, materials, compatibility, care, delivery and returns where relevant. Separate verified specifications from promotional claims. Read the page on a phone and confirm that the price, available variants and purchase action are understandable.

4. Compare visible details with structured data

Where your platform outputs product markup, verify that the price, currency and availability agree with the page. Validate the markup with Google's Rich Results Test. Trendifyn's Page Optimizer suggests copy improvements for up to 12 public pages; it is not a full catalog crawl or a structured-data validator.

5. Turn findings into a fix queue

Fix a broken template before polishing individual descriptions. Group tasks into access problems, misleading details and helpful-copy improvements, with a named owner. Save the original and updated page, then check the live version and monitor your own results rather than assuming every change improves rankings.
